Review - Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini
I wanted a small phone that could pick up email and look at the odd website. I chose the X10 because it was small and reputed to have a good screen. On receipt I was surprised by how small it was, a fraction the size of my wife's iPhone, it looks more like an mp3 player than a phone. Once I started using it I soon found the size was not a problem at all, it is easy to use. The screen is really clear and allows you to easily read some very small text. The size does work against it if you want to look at a map or write a long email. The latter is a bit irritating as due to the size it doesn't show a full qwerty keyboard instead you get a cellular keypad, this is understandable as I wouldn't have been able to use a qwerty keypad on a screen this size.

The battery life to date is on a par with other smartphones I have used. On standby it is fine for a few days but it soon drains with any sort of use and you soon find that you need to charge it. I haven't done much about trying to prolong the battery life so the screen is still at full brightness etc and if I look at the battery use app it cites the display as the main source of the power along with the standby.

Overall the X10 mini has really delivered it is so small that you can almost forget it is in your pocket yet it is still really usable. The screen is very responsive and it is pretty quick (especially on wi-fi) for picking up email and web browsing. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a small phone mainly for calls with the occasional smartphone element, it is a brilliant effort. I don't think it is a phone for everyone though a heavy text/email/social networker would soon find the lack of a full keyboard and screen size a problem.
